How to display a formrun form in an online store created with Shopify, and what to do if the form does not appear.

How to display a Formrun form on a Shopify store

There are 4 ways to display a Formrun form on a Shopify store.

Note, it is easiest to embed Formrun on Shopify by "Embed in Theme Section".

Embed in Theme Section

From the page where you can set up and modify specific modules (sections/elements) in real time, you can embed a form created with Formrun.

From the Shopify page "Apps > Formrun", click on "Embed in Theme Section".

After automatically transitioning to the Shopify page "Apps > Settings > Select Theme", select and install the desired theme.

 

Please make sure it is indicated as "Installed".

From the Shopify page "Home > Customize Theme", click on "Customize Theme".

 

On the transitioned page, click "Customize" for the respective theme.

Click on "Add Section > Formrun○○ (Form Name)".

After returning to the Shopify page and clicking "Save", you can see the form is displayed and the Formrun form is embedded.

If you wish to change the form's display position, you can do so by drag & drop.

 
Embed in Blog or Page using iframe Tag

You can embed a form created with Formrun within Shopify. However, since you need to create a Liquid file, please use only if you are familiar with HTML, CSS, and have basic knowledge of Liquid. Refer to this link for guidance.

Please note that this feature is intended for designers and engineers, and Formrun does not provide support for installation.

Click on "Embed in Blog or Page using iframe Tag".

Once the script is displayed, click "Copy".

Click "..." under "Online Store>Themes" and then click "Edit Code".

 

After pasting the text you copied earlier, click "Save".

Click "Preview", and by reloading on the preview page, you can check the preview display.

Copy URL for Link Setting

By clicking, you can copy the URL created in formrun. Paste the copied URL anywhere within Shopify.

Show QR Code

By clicking, you can display the QR code of the form created in formrun.
You can also download and paste it on the site to channel visitors to the form.

 
 

Embed in Theme Section

From the page where you can place or modify specific modules (sections/elements) in real time, you can embed the form created in formrun.

From the Shopify page "Apps>formrun", click "Embed in Theme Section".

After automatically transitioning to the Shopify page "Apps>Settings>Choose Theme", select and install any theme.

 

Make sure that "Installed" is displayed.

From the Shopify page "Home>Customize Theme", click "Customize Theme".

 

On the transitioned page for the relevant theme, click "Customize".

Click on "Add Section>formrun〇〇 (form name)".

Return to the Shopify page, click "Save", and you can confirm that the form you created with formrun is embedded.

If you want to change the display position of the form, you can change it by drag & drop.

 
Embedding in blogs or pages with iframe tag

You can embed the form you created in formrun within Shopify. However, you need to create a Liquid file, so please use this as a reference only if you understand HTML and CSS and have basic knowledge of Liquid.

Copying the URL to set a link

By clicking, you can copy the URL created with formrun. Please paste the copied URL to any desired location within Shopify.

Displaying the QR code

By clicking, you can display the QR code of the form created with formrun. You can also download it and post it on your site to direct traffic to the form.

 

Not switched to a paid plan / Free trial period has expired

To integrate with Shopify, the following are essential conditions:

  • Paid plan (BEGINNER plan or higher)
  • Within the free trial period

Changed the Shopify store domain after API integration

If you change the domain of your Shopify store from the Shopify admin page after integrating formrun with Shopify via API, the formrun may not be displayed on your Shopify store.

In the above case, please proceed with the following steps:

  1. Go to the settings page "Install form > Embed form (iframe)".
  2. In "Specify the form embedding destination", enter the domain of the changed Shopify store in "Form installation destination (domain or URL)".
  3. Click "Update".
